Assistant Manager - Deli, Seafood & Café

We’re looking for a motivated Assistant Manager to support our Deli, Seafood and Café departments at New World Tawa.

This is a hands-on leadership role, working closely with the Department Manager to ensure high standards, strong team performance, and an excellent customer experience across all areas.

Hours: Sunday – Thursday | 5:00am – 2:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily operations across Deli, Seafood and Café

• Provide clear leadership and direction to a team of 8 staff

• Deliver outstanding customer service, with a strong focus on community engagement

• Oversee in-store food production (approx. 70% made in-store)

• Maintain high standards of food safety, compliance, and presentation

• Support hot food performance – a key financial driver for the department

• Assist in growing and delivering our catering offer

• Ensure consistent availability of range and an “awesome experience” for customers

About You

• Experience in food retail, hospitality, or a similar environment

• Confident leader with strong communication skills

• Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities

• Passion for food, customer service, and continuous improvement

• Solid understanding of food safety and compliance
