Caretaker

Tawa College is a co-educational secondary school with a roll of approximately 1200 students and 120 staff.   We are situated in central Tawa with close proximity to public transport and community facilities.  The college incorporates substantial buildings and grounds.  

We are seeking applications for the position of Caretaker.   This is an important role in the day to day life of our College, providing staff and students with a consistently well maintained environment.

You will be an integral part of the Property Team reporting directly to the Property Manager, with the collective goal of enriching the school environment and appearance. This is a multi faceted role which requires the ability to be flexible in challenging situations and the willingness to problem solve.  It is a varied and rewarding position within the college that provides real job satisfaction.

As part of the remuneration package, a three bedroom house with surrounding gardens is provided for you and your immediate family, at a heavily subsidised rental.  The role does require you to be on call and available after school hours to attend any call outs for security reasons. The college and house are close to local transport links, primary and intermediate schools, and the Tawa shopping and community precinct.

This is a full time permanent role, subject to completion of a clear Police Vet. Please note if you have lived outside of NZ in the previous 10 years, you will need to provide a clear police vet from the countries that you have resided in.
