He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate Support Worker to join our Home-Based Facilitator team in Tawa.
In this role, you’ll provide practical, one-to-one support to tāngata whaiora in their own homes and communities, helping them build confidence, skills, and independence. This is a role where relationships matter, you’ll support people to reconnect, learn, grow, and work towards goals that genuinely matter to them.
Role details:
Permanent full-time position, 40 hours per week
Worked across 5 days, Monday to Sunday
Rostered shifts between 7:30am and 10:00pm
Your duties will include:
Provide practical, home-based support that strengthens independent living skills
Walk alongside whaiora supporting rather than doing things for them
Support whaiora to set meaningful goals and actively work towards achieving them
Build strong, professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries
Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners

We are looking for someone who is genuine, positive, flexible, vibrant, confident, and compassionate to work in our service. To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have the following:
Hold a Level 4 or higher qualification in Health and Wellbeing, or Mental Health and Addiction
Must hold and maintain First Aid certification including CPR (or be willing and able to complete this).
Experience of one-to-one support within the community is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication and computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries.
Demonstrated commitment to recovery values.
Eligible to work in New Zealand.
A current full driver's licence.
