He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
Our Housing Operations Managers are dynamic, values-led leaders who lead teams to deliver mana-enhancing housing services across the motu. In this pivotal role, you'll help shape housing outcomes that are grounded in manaakitanga, strengthen community connections, and lead high-performing teams who work with compassion and purpose.
Over the next six months, your focus will be on partnering with internal and external stakeholders to onboard warm, safe, and dry whare for whānau — creating lasting impact and contributing to innovative, people-centred housing solutions that uphold mana and wellbeing. Additionally, ensuring the whānau are supported by best practice service delivery.
Based in Tawa, Wellington, you'll oversee housing services across the Wellington and Central regions, travelling between Masterton and Napier to support teams and strengthen relationships. You'll guide Team Leaders, foster trusted partnerships, and drive continuous improvement to ensure our services are responsive, effective, and grounded in our values.
Key Responsibilities:
Support kaimahi to achieve long lasting positive outcomes for whānau in service
Lead Team Leaders and ensure compliance with policy and legislation
Build strong stakeholder relationships
Monitor budgets and manage risks
Support service development and quality improvement

You're a natural leader with housing sector experience, strong networks, and a passion for supporting communities. You'll bring:
Leadership experience in housing or social services
Proven ability to lead teams and manage HR matters
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
A relevant tertiary qualification (Level 7 preferred)
Full NZ driver licence
