He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role
As a Navigator, you will provide reliable, in-depth assessments, planning, high-level interventions, and service coordination for wraparound services to tenants and service users.
Providing support from within our Emergency Housing service, these roles are focused on housing and connecting whānau with the community. You will be focused on guiding tenants through the Ministry of Social Development system, health and education services where required, to enable whānau to reconnect by using your community connections to become involved in the wider community.
In terms of service delivery, you will work collaboratively with your colleagues to support whānau on their journey, providing a safe environment and assisting them with their goals and daily tasks.
This is a permanent full-time position, working Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00am - 8.00pm. The role will be based in Porirua.
Duties of the role could include but not limited to
Coordinating with your colleagues to support whānau through their journey and achieve their goals.
Liaising and researching other appropriate organisations in the community as well as liaising using internal stakeholders to support Whānau.
Conducting and writing assessments and support letters.
Responding to urgent matters and ensuring safety concerns are addressed.
Providing support at meetings.

We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and passionate about working in our service.
You will enjoy working creatively, autonomously and work effectively in an interdisciplinary team being able to communicate easily with a variety of people. You will need to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure and really encourage our clients along their journey.
You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You'll use your non-judgemental empathetic attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow.
You'll need the following:
Previous experience working in a similar role.
Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act, especially an understanding of issues that can lead to a breach or put a housing tenancy at risks.
Ability to liaise with a variety of referral sources and other providers.
Proven relationship management skills and experience.
Strong computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries.
The right to live and work in Aotearoa.
Full New Zealand Driver's License (essential).
