We are seeking volunteers to join our Tawa Guide unit to support youth aged 9 – 12 years old to experience Girl Guiding.

Girl Guiding New Zealand is all about empowering women of all ages to develop confidence, leadership, and to be capable members of society. This means going outdoors, adventuring around the local area, and learning new things by getting stuck in.

As a Unit Leader at Tawa Guides, you will be working alongside Jess (Unit Team Leader) and parent volunteers to:

  • Provide a fun, challenging, and exciting programme for girls.

  • Facilitate opportunities for girls to contribute and ensure that there is a strong girl voice in the unit.

  • Receive ongoing training and mentoring opportunities.

A regular commitment to attend and help run a weekly unit meeting on Thursday, 5.30 pm – 7 pm at the Nan Worgan Guide Hall, Oxford St Tawa. Meetings are held during the school term only.

You may spend extra time to help plan the programme or attend camps, excursions, and trainings (these extra events are optional).

If this sounds like you, we would love to chat.
