Van Driver

Do you have 10 spare hours a week and would like to contribute to your community? We have a paid opportunity for a reliable person to drive a van and transport students and their children to and from school, from the Porirua basin to Linden, starting as soon as possible.

He Huarahi Tamariki (HHT) is a school for teenage parents and provides an opportunity for students to complete their secondary schooling. We are based in Linden, Wellington and our host school is Wellington East Girls’ College.  The HHT complex includes an early learning centre.  Our drivers are part of the HHT support staff and are valuable members of our team.

This position is permanent, part-time, term time only i.e. school holidays are not normally worked. Two hours a day minimum during the school terms (ie 10 hours minimum per week).   The morning run begins at 7:45 am, and the afternoon run begins at 2:45 pm. Additional hours may be required. Remuneration is the living wage.

A full, clean driver’s license is required with the ability to drive manual and automatic vehicles.

As you will be working in a School environment (as per the Education and Training Act 2020 and the Children’s Act 2014), a satisfactory safety check (including police vetting) is required.  This must be maintained at all times during employment.

There is a possibility of a job-share arrangement. We welcome applications even if you are only available for the morning or afternoon run.
