Assistant Manager / Senior Duty Manager

We're now looking for an experienced Assistant Manager to help lead our team and support the day-to-day operation of one of Wellington's busiest neighbourhood taverns.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Duty Manager who is ready to take the next step in their hospitality career.

Working alongside the owner and management team, you'll play a key role in leading shifts, developing staff, maintaining service standards, and ensuring our guests receive exceptional hospitality every time they visit.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

• Current New Zealand Duty Manager's Licence

• Current LCQ qualification

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a Duty Manager or hospitality leadership role

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Ability to lead a team and manage busy service periods

• Sound understanding of responsible alcohol management

• Ability to work evenings and weekends on a rotating roster

Preferred:

• Experience in craft beer, wine, and hospitality operations

• Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role

• Knowledge of stock control, ordering, and cash handling procedures

• Food safety knowledge and experience

Hours

• Full-time permanent role

• Minimum 30 hours per week

• Maximum 50 hours per week

• Rostered across Monday to Sunday, including evenings and weekends
