Barista

About the role

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Barista to join our vibrant team at a new set-up cafe in Tawa, Wellington. This role is responsible for establishing and maintaining a high-standard coffee program that appeals to both Tawa locals and Wellington commuters. You will own the espresso bar workflow, ensuring consistency, speed, and quality in every cup.

What you'll be doing

1. Preparing a range of specialty coffee drinks to the highest standards

2. Providing friendly and efficient customer service to ensure a positive experience for all guests

3. Maintaining a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety guidelines

4. Collaborating with the team to ensure smooth daily operations

5. Participating in regular training to develop your coffee expertise

6. Assisting with other duties as required to support the overall success of the business

What we're looking for:

1. At least 2 years of experience as a full-time Barista in a fast-paced cafe or hospitality setting

2. Excellent customer service skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour

3. Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and equipment, including espresso machines

4. Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation

5. Passion to lead the success of a new cafe
