Casual Sunglass Stylist

About the role

We are looking for a Casual Sunglass Stylist to join the team at Sunglass Style Ltd in Tawa, Wellington. This is a casual position that offers flexibility whilst delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. As a Sunglass Stylist, you will be at the heart of our business, helping customers find the perfect eyewear whilst building lasting relationships and driving sales. This role is ideal for someone seeking flexible work with the opportunity to develop retail expertise in the fashion and eyewear sector.

Key responsibilities

• Providing expert styling advice to customers, helping them select sunglasses that suit their face shape, skin tone and personal style

• Demonstrating product knowledge and educating customers about lens technology, UV protection and frame materials

• Processing customer transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems

• Maintaining a clean, well-organised and visually appealing retail space

• Restocking shelves and managing inventory levels

• Building positive customer relationships and encouraging repeat business through exceptional service

• Identifying customer needs and recommending appropriate products to maximise sales

• Handling customer enquiries and complaints professionally and courteously

• Complying with health and safety regulations and company policies

What we're looking for

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with customers

• A passion for fashion, style and eyewear

• Previous retail experience, preferably in fashion, accessories or beauty sectors

• Strong numeracy skills and comfort with handling cash and card transactions

• The ability to work flexibly within a casual arrangement weekdays and weekends as required

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn about product ranges and styling techniques

• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

• Attention to detail and organisational skills

• A professional appearance and understanding of personal grooming standards in a fashion retail environment

• Experience with point-of-sale systems is desirable but not essential
