Our Vision


Wellington North Badminton is a rapidly growing non-for-profit sports organisation with a vision to provide the best badminton experience.


How you will make an impact:


  • Understand and deliver on Wellington North Badminton’s vision

  • Leverage badminton events and competitions to build awareness and promote the benefits of badminton

  • Facilitate and maintain effective and productive relationships with all WNBA stakeholders


What you will do:


Manage ALL aspects of event delivery for badminton events and competitions. Including the following:


  • Innovation in event design and delivery

  • Communications and promotions of all events and programs

  • Schedule and develop a calendar of events and programs that encourage increased and continued participation

  • Identify, recruit and train volunteers to assist with program and event delivery

  • Collect feedback and insights from all events and programs participants for reporting and continuous improvement

  • Use Badminton NZ-approved programs (Tournament Software and League Planner and Hello Club) to facilitate all Badminton and other related activities at WNBA.

  • Manage Player Registrations and Team Entries with BNZ

  • Ensure All Tournaments and Events including Interassociation ties adhere to all rules and regulations.

  • Compile Results and Distribution of Results, certificates, prizes, and Medals

  • Work with the Community Development Manager to develop events and programs to provide a positive experience for all players.

  • Assist and update information Content on the Website / Facebook and Instagram.


What success looks like:


  • Delivery of successful badminton events and competitions

  • Formation of Representative Teams for WNBA – Trial / Selection/ Day to day administration.

  • Delivery of development of events and programs that encourage increased and continued participation.


What you will bring:


  • Understanding of general badminton competition rules and regulations is highly desirable but not essential

  • Event and competition management and delivery experience, ideally in a range of environments including performance/schools/clubs/communities’ settings

  • A team player - works constructively with team members and/or other employees towards the Wellington North Badminton Vision and Mission statements

  • Demonstrates high standards and behaviors that deliver superior customer service

  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills, promoting and selling ideas to others

  • Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with people at all levels

  • Strength in problem-solving, critical, and analytical thinking

  • Excellent eye for detail and time management

  • Reports to the General Manager

  • Work alongside the Community Manager and Community Coaching Coordinator

  • Players and Members of WNBA

  • Badminton NZ and Central Region Badminton Associations

  • Local and regional businesses and communities
