About Our Tawa Outlet Store

Located at Tawa Outlet in Wellington, our ASICS Outlet Store offers great value performance footwear and apparel in a welcoming retail environment. As an outlet location, the store focuses on driving strong sales results, managing stock efficiently, and delivering friendly, knowledgeable service while upholding the standards and reputation of the ASICS brand.

We are looking for a motivated and capable Manager in Training to work alongside the Store Manager, develop leadership capability, and build the skills required to step into future management opportunities.

About the Role

This is a development role designed for someone ready to take the next step in their retail career. As Manager in Training, you will learn all aspects of store operations while supporting the Store Manager in leading the team and delivering strong commercial results.

You will gradually build confidence in leadership, operations, and performance management, with structured support and coaching along the way.

This role is 30–35 hours per week, with flexibility for either a Tuesday–Friday or Tuesday–Saturday roster, depending on the successful candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in leading and developing the retail team

• Deliver excellent customer service in line with ASICS standards

• Assist in achieving store sales targets and KPIs

• Learn and support daily operations including rostering, stock management, reporting, and visual merchandising

• Maintain accurate inventory processes and strong stock control

• Ensure compliance with health & safety requirements and company policies

• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in retail, ideally with some supervisory or keyholder responsibility

• A genuine interest in developing into a leadership role

• Strong customer service skills and a proactive attitude

• Good organisational skills and willingness to learn operational processes

• Reliability and confidence taking responsibility when required

• Interest in sport, health, or fitness is highly regarded
