He kōrero mō mātou | About Us

Ka Puta Ka Ora Emerge Aotearoa is a national provider of mental health, addiction, disability, offender rehabilitation, wellbeing, and housing services. We believe that everyone is capable of living full and rich lives in their communities of choice. In every aspect of our work, we are committed to helping whānau be the best they can be.

He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

Are you ready to make a real difference in people's lives? We're looking for a passionate and dedicated Navigator (Health and Disability) to join our team and provide meaningful support to our tangata Whaiora. This is your chance to empower individuals in our community, helping them reconnect, grow, and build the skills to live independently.

In this rewarding role, you'll not only be supporting others to succeed but also have opportunities to grow and develop yourself. Join us in making a lasting impact, one person at a time.

We have two fixed term full-time positions available, with hours from 8.00am - 6.00pm, Monday to Sunday, based in Tawa.

If you're ready to be part of a team that cares deeply about people and community, we'd love to hear from you!

Your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • You'll provide wrap-around support to Whaiora in a hand-on capacity that sees you out in the community supporting people in real time to engage or re-engage them with their community and natural supports.

  • The key focus of this role will have you giving Whaiora the tools and the confidence to support themselves - it's all about supporting them through a process not doing it for them.

  • A typical day will see you meeting with Whaiora in the community (or in their home) to go through a personalised plan, identify areas for referrals, and help set goals that will make a real difference to their lives such as housing, financial, education, or health etc.

  • You'll coordinate with individuals, families, and significant others, as well as external and internal services to provide wrap-around support, help them to achieve their goals, and provide support and advocacy during meetings.

  • You'll work to identify previous barriers that have prevented them accessing support in the past and help them to create systems to prevent this from happening again.

He kōrero mōu | About You

We're seeking a positive, flexible, and compassionate individual to join our team! If you're vibrant, confident, and driven to make a real difference, this role is for you. Bring your non-judgemental approach and genuine belief in people's potential to help our Whaiora achieve their goals. You'll be skilled in building strong, respectful relationships while upholding professional boundaries. Join us in creating a supportive environment where every person can thrive!

To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have the following:

  • A Level 4 (or higher) qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or be working towards one.

  • Experience of one-to-one support within the community is preferred but not essential.

  • Strong communication and computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries.

  • Demonstrated commitment to recovery values.

  • Eligibility to work in New Zealand.

  • A current full driver's licence.

Ko tā mātou mahi | We Offer

At the heart of our team is a strong, supportive culture where we build each other up and celebrate both personal and professional wins. We love to have fun, share a good laugh, and enjoy the little things - whether it's chatting about food, whānau, travel, or fitness over a coffee. If you're looking for a workplace where you can thrive in a positive, encouraging environment, you'll fit right in with us!

In addition, we also offer:

  • Learning, development, and training opportunities, inclusive of 5-10 paid study leave days.

  • Great staff benefits, including store discounts, and 3 days of well-being leave.

  • Discounted health insurance through Southern Cross Health.
