Aquafare
Full Time

CLOSING DATE BELOW IF SPECIFIED
Aquafare is a premium, boutique pet funeral home located in Tawa, specialising in pet farewell and aquamation or water cremation. We provide a gentle, eco-friendly, and deeply respectful aftercare service for local families saying goodbye to their beloved pets.
As our facility grows, we are looking for a dedicated Aftercare Technician & Client Support team member. This role is designed to provide crucial, hands-on support across our daily operations.
The Role
This is a unique position that bridges both the front and back of house. You will be warmly supporting grieving families in our reception area, while also managing the physical and practical operations of the aftercare process in the back.
Full training will be provided. We aren't looking for prior experience in the aftercare industry; we are looking for the right heart, a great work ethic, and a practical mindset.
What You Will Be Doing:
Client Care: Acting as a warm, professional point of contact for families and local vet clinics via phone, email, and face-to-face in our private viewing room. This also includes picking up pets from customers' homes or vet clinics.
Facility & Processing Operations: Operating our equipments with the utmost care and precision.
Respectful Handling: Assisting with the physical intake, safe transfer from and to customers' home and vet clinics, and dignified preparation of pets. (Please note: This role requires physical capability, including safe lifting practices for heavier animals).
Aftercare Preparation: Meticulously processing and preparing the final ashes, ensuring our strict identification and tracking protocols are followed with 100% accuracy before returning them to the family.
Who We Are Looking For:
A Genuine Animal Lover: You truly understand the deep bond between humans and their pets and treat every animal in our care as if they were your own.
Customer Service Experience: You are calm, empathetic, and comfortable holding space for people who are navigating grief. You know how to read a room and adjust your tone appropriately.
Takes Initiative: You are a self-starter. If something needs doing, cleaning, or organising, you roll up your sleeves and handle it without waiting to be asked.
Reliable & Practical: You have a level head and are comfortable with both the emotional reality of bereavement and the physical reality of aftercare processing.
Why Join Us?
This is a chance to step into a highly meaningful role where your daily work truly matters to the local community, working within a beautiful and supportive environment.
How to Apply:
Please send your CV and a brief cover letter telling us why you would be a great fit for the Aquafare team to yanli@aquafare.co.nz.
