Van Drivers

Orange Sky Aotearoa

10 am – 1.30 pm each Tuesday

Volunteer Role

CLOSING DATE BELOW IF SPECIFIED

Orange Sky operates a free, mobile laundry and shower service for people experiencing hardship in our community. Our mission is to positively connect communities through genuine, non-judgmental conversation whilst providing this basic, practical service.

As an Orange Sky volunteer van driver,  your role will be to pick up the Orange Sky van from its base in Mt Cook, Wellington and drive to the shift location at the Tawa Community Centre for the start of the shift. And then to drive it back to the base at the end of the shift.

Most drivers also stay on to be part of the general team delivering the laundry and shower services to the community, but we will also consider people who are just interested in the driving aspect of the role.

The shift time is 10.30 am – 1.00 pm each Tuesday at the Tawa Community Centre, with the driving time on top of this.

We expect volunteer van drivers to be able to commit to a shift at least once every three weeks (on average).

Note that drivers need a regular car licence only, and you will be required to have your own transport to and from the van base at the start and end of your shifts.
