He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role:

As a Wrap Around Support Specialist, you'll play a vital role in supporting people who have experienced significant historic abuse while in state care. Working within an innovative mobile service, you will provide intensive, person-centred support that helps tāngata whaiora navigate their claims journey while strengthening their health, wellbeing, and connection to community resources.

This is a highly autonomous and rewarding role where you'll build trusting relationships through a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach. You'll assess individual needs, coordinate supports, connect people with community services, advocate on their behalf, and walk alongside them as they work towards their personal wellbeing goals.

No two days are the same. You will manage referrals and caseloads, collaborate with whānau and external agencies, support people to access housing, health, education, employment and social opportunities, and contribute to ongoing service development as part of a pilot programme.

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• A relevant Level 5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction Support, Social Services, Health, or a related field.

• 3-5 years' experience working in community-based health, mental health, disability, or social services.

• Proven experience using trauma-informed, strengths-based and recovery-focused approaches to support people with complex needs.

• The ability to build rapport and engage effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including those who may be hesitant to engage with support services.

• Strong assessment, care coordination, advocacy and case management skills.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with whānau, community providers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.

• The confidence to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and coordinate your own caseload.

• Knowledge of community resources and a commitment to connecting people with the supports they need to thrive.

• Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and client management systems.

• A current Full New Zealand Driver Licence and Comprehensive First Aid Certificate, or the ability to obtain one.
